Bits and pieces

I've had loads of mail just lately:

Postcards from Robin and Vicki in the 3CS Gilded Age postcard swap:

Three more postcards from iHanna's swap. These are from Pam, Laurie and April. Go check out their blogs for some lovely arty inspiration.

And this postcard from Chris, for the Black & White postcard swap on Trading Fabric Postcards:

I've made my first attempt at dyeing using Procion dyes. This is muslin dyed with lemon yellow and golden yellow. I scrunched up and dyed in trays. I think I like the effect:

For April's journal quilt, the challenge is to make a single colour/monochromatic quilt. Can you guess what my colour is going to be?

Oh, and, inspired by this book, I have started an art journal:

  1. More great postcards. I keep looking at the big plastic boxes I've got stashed full of yummy fibres and threads and thinking I really need to get back into more arty textiles. I've a yearning to make fabric books....

  2. I really like your dyed fabrics. Congratulations on starting an art journal! I've been messing around with the idea for awhile, and started in earnest in February. Just this month I joined Art Journal Every Day, encouraged by Julie Fei-Fen Balzer. If you want to join in, you can get to her site through my blog, if you aren't already familiar with her. (She is awesome in the fields of scrapbooking, art journaling, painting, fabrics...everything!)

  3. Wowsers, you always have so much going on! The postcards are so wonderful, I am especially loving the mickey mouse fabric one. Your dyed fabrics sing of spring, all that yellow, what will you use it for?
I have started an art journal too, but not so much in it as yet!
